The Game Night category covers the whole spectrum the app actually ships for: squad nights, board-game tables, 5-a-side on Sunday. What they all need is the same thing — reliably gathering exactly the right number of people at exactly one time — so a gaming community is basically a standing plan that lives in a group chat.

“Tonight, 9 pm — what are we running?” goes up as a poll; the answer isn't a wall of replies, it's two bars that fill while everyone's in call-or-no-call arguments. Custom-room links, set times and the “one more round” decisions all land in one place. And when it's game time, the group call is already there — voice with every member, no switching apps mid-match.

Most squads run invite-only with rotating invite codes — admins can revoke and regenerate +one/c/… links, so the room stays the room. Open gaming communities work the other way: public cards on Discover with live member counts, made for finding the fifth player who isn't your friend yet.
